Chris and I went to Babies R Us today to look at travel systems (strollers and car seats).  It was such an amazing feeling to go into the store knowing that we were shopping for us.  I would be lying if I said that I didn’t get choked up–I know it is hard to believe that I would get emotional!  We checked them all out and picked out the one we liked.  I came home and searched for it online and found it at Target for $30 less–bargain shopping all the way!  Every step we take in this process that gets us closer and closer to our own little one, is amazing!

Just finished our second home study with Mandy and it went just as well as the first.  Our fire inspection is this Friday and our third home study visit is on May 9th.  We are moving right along.  Keep those prayers coming!

Well all–we just finished our first of 3 home study visits with our assessor.  We think it went very well.  Lots and lots of question answering, but quite painless.  We have another appointment scheduled for next week and we got a copy of the safety audit so that we can make sure we have all of those requirements met.  We just keep checking things off our list!

After a good 10 hours or so, Chris and I completed our home study questionnaire.  It ended up being 12 typed pages!  Feels so great to have the next step completed.  Mandy, our assessor is coming for our first meeting on Tuesday night at 7!  We have few small pieces of paper work to finish and then we wait, wait and wait some more.  Each piece that is accomplished, no matter how much work, gets us that much closer to our dream!  We can’t wait to meet the little person God has waiting for us!

Well all—with the love and support from our family and friends we raised $9208.68!  Chris and I cannot express our thanks and appreciation enough for all of the kindness and generosity, we have received from everyone, throughout this journey.  We feel so blessed to have such loving and supportive people in our lives!

Our first home study visit is Tuesday, so please keep us in your prayers as we take our next BIG step in this very long process.

We love and appreciate you all–Audrey and Chris

Well–We (Roz, Bronwyn, Mom, Kell, Kelly, Ann, Gram, Deb, myself and a few others) were busy little bees this evening.  Cakes are baked, sauce is made, to go containers are ready, all 74 silent auction items are ready to go and our delivery schedule is set!  I can’t believe the day is here already.  It seems like just yesterday we were starting to make our plans and here we are.  We could not have done any of this without the love and support from our family and friends.  You are all loved and cherished by Chris and me.  See you all tomorrow night!

AHHHHH!

What a crazy day!  I think my phone rang 79 times this afternoon!  We are so excited for Friday!  We can’t wait to spend the evening with our friends and family!  If you are still interested in purchasing tickets, you can use the Paypal account on the “How can I help?” tab, or we will be selling tickets at the door.  We are up to 62 silent auction items and baskets!  We can’t wait to see everyone on Friday!

Tickets

Hey all–We are trying to sell as many pre-sale tickets as possible, so we know how much food to make.  However, we will be selling tickets at the door for anyone who was not able to purchase tickets ahead of time.  Spread the word and bring your friends, it is going to be a great night!

We spent the evening setting up some of the silent auction baskets at church for Easter tomorrow.  We have been so blessed with amazing donated baskets.  When we started planning the spaghetti dinner and silent auction, I said I would be happy with a dozen baskets.  We currently have over forty and more keep coming in!  Everyone has been so generous–we are truly blessed!

We dropped off our application today!  When I was there and she was copying my drivers license she reminded me that it was expired!  Good thing the BMV is right next door!  Chris and I are going to get fingerprinted on Friday.  We are thrilled to be moving ahead in the process.

We are working very hard to get our silent auction baskets organized and ready for this weekend.  They all look amazing!

Amanda, at the agency told me it would take 2-3 weeks for our home study assessor to contact us.  In the mean time, we have to get our medical forms filled out by our doctor, updated pet immunization records from the vet and a fire inspection.  The list goes on and on!
